Hotel & Spa Terraza

Buzz Trips View

We didn’t think there was anything particularly special about the Hotel & Spa Terraza but that’s not necessarily a criticism, just an observation. The hotel more or less does what it says on the packet – it’s a pleasant, friendly hotel right opposite the lovely Roses beach and is also very close to the centre of the resort. As far as décor and food goes, the Hotel & Spa Terraza’s is inoffensive rather memorable which we feel probably suits the mainly more mature visitors who stay here right down to the ground. In many ways it is simply a typical, well run, clean and comfortable, smallish resort hotel.

Avgda de Rhode, 32, Roses

The Hotel & Spa Terraza is a four star hotel but in our experience in Costa Brava, four star hotels in the bigger resorts had less of a personality than those in smaller towns and in Girona itself. The Hotel & Spa Terraza didn’t change our view. For anyone looking for a decent hotel in Roses it represents a good choice as it occupies an excellent beach front location and is only a short walk along the promenade to the bars, restaurants and shops of the centre.

Rooms
The Hotel & Spa Terraza’s 90 rooms are comfortable with the sort of pine furnishings and airy pastel fabrics that are typical of a million hotels. Rooms have satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi. Balconies are good sized and have great views along the coast (nice for a pre dinner glass of vino). There’s no mini-bar but there is a small fridge in the rooms and a nice touch is that it is stocked with free water when most hotels charge an arm and a leg for providing this basic essential.

Facilities
The hotel’s public areas have clearly had a recent revamp and are bright and quite attractive. The small pool and garden area, the view from the restaurant, has also been nicely designed. A feature of the hotel is its spa which offers a good range of treatments and, being on the roof of the hotel, has nice views over the resort. A sunset jacuzzi is a rather relaxing way to round off the day.

Prices start from around €78 for a single room on B&B basis.
